Our History Algoma Financial Services was created by Algoma Insurance in February 1999. Our initial goal was to more completely serve the needs of Algoma Insurance’s existing clients. From the beginning, Algoma Financial Services has always wanted to be a little different than the competition. Our independence means a great deal to us. It means we are not limited in the companies or products we can offer. Our independence also means that we do not have sales quotas given to us from some head office in Toronto. It is our opinion that clients are best served by advisors that can provide a variety of product solutions, as well as do not have to exert pressure to make a sale. In addition, we wanted to attract advisors with specialized knowledge. We believe that our clients deserve the best possible guidance and advice to help them achieve their goals. Since the beginning, the public response to AFS has been very positive. In a very short time, we have grown to 6 advisors and 4 support staff. Our client base initially was based solely in Sault Ste. Marie, but has quickly spread throughout the district of Algoma and now encompasses all of Ontario. Please browse through our site.
